MONEY STABILISATION
PRINCIPLES AGREED ON (10 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 19. The Secretary of the Treasury, Mr Henry Morgenthau, will inform the Senate and House of Representatives committees on Friday on the progress of the world currency stabilisation conferences, reports the New York Times’ correspondent in Washington. He will report agreement on principles by international experts, a basis having been reached paving the way for a conference on a higher level. It is understood that Britain sacrificed some essential features of Lord Keyne’s plan, specially its almost complete disregard of gold. The United States, in standing out for gold, was supported by Canada, South Africa and Russia.
