FURTHER REDUCTION

ARMY ESTABLISHMENTS (P.A.) AUCKLAND' April 20 In further development of the demobilisation began last year, the staffs in army establishments in the Auckland district .are now being reduced considerably in compliance with the War Cabinet's instructions. The purposes of the movement are to release more men and women for all branches of essential industry, to ease the burden on t'he taxpayers, and to swell the total taxable income. Major-General Bell states that the staff of the district army school has been reduced by about' one-half and 'the instructional staff now totals only six in number. All mechanical transport not in use is being concentrated at Ngaruawahia.
