SPURIOUS CURRENCY

NAZIS FLOODING ROME (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Jan. 30. The Rome area is being flooded with enemy printed currency, states a correspondent with the Fifth Army. This news has reached the Allied bridgehead by way of pedestrian travellers from the capital. Lira, says the correspondent, are rolling from the printing machines and are very similar to those of the genuine Italian currency, but it is significant that the Italians within Rome are offiering 2000 of these lira for British pounds or 400 AUied printed lira.
