TE KARAKA NEWS

There was a good attendance at a ling five hundred' evening held in the Waikohu Hall in honour of L.A.C. Chus. Ribbon who had been spending leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs E. Ribbon. The card tournament was keenly contested, the prize-winners being Mr and Mrs M. Hindrup. Mrs W. M. Jones, and Mr P. Hardacre. Players at“*No. 12 table won the travelling envelope, consolation prizes went to No. S table and No. 7 table received the lucky envelope. A presentation was made to L.A.C. Ribbon by Mr S. 3. Smithers on behalf of the To Karaka district committee, the speaker tendering the good wishes of all present to their guest. A dainty supper was served by lady members of the committee. A flag live hundred tounjamont in aid of Red Cross funds will be ln-ld next week.
