Miss L. Bain, Ormond road, has returned ’from ,a visit to Invercargill and Stewnrt Island.
Mr ami Mrs \V. D. Morley and family, Harris street, have returned from a visit to Dannevirke, and Mafiterton. Miss Ruth Thompson, Wadestown, Wellington, is arriving to-day and will be the guest of Mrs S. D. Reeves, Pakarae.
Miss D. Adams is returning to Wellington on Monday after visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs T. Adams, Cheeseman road. Mrs John D’Ath, “Olympus,” Manakau, accompanied by her small daughter, Susan, is visiting Mrs C. D. Armstrong, Harris street.
Mrs N. T. Oray, Hastings, is arriving at Gisborne on Monday and will be the guest of her sister, Mrs C. L. Margoliouth. Sheehan street. Mrs O. Wallis Jackson, who has been a guest al. the Masonic Hotel, left to-day on a visit to Wairoa and will return to Wellington next week. Miss P. Do Costa, Clifford street, and Miss J. Kcmlon, Whitaker street, are returning on Monday night from n visit lo Wellington and Christchurch. ENGAGEMENTS Bulloch—Tarry.—Mr and Mrs E. F. Tarry, 722 Aberdeen road, Gislxirne, announce the engagement of their eldest daughter, Phyllis Alice, to George Desmond, younger son of Mr and Mrs J, Bulloch, 16 Union street, Pananui, Christchurch. Harding—Ncamc.—An engagement is announced between Private Cecil Thomas Harding. Second Now Zealand Expeditionary Force, second sou of Mrs A. Harding and the late Mr H. Harding, Gisborne, to Betty, only daughter of Mr and Mrs N. Nenme, Gislxirne.
Lett—Garrity.—An engagement is announced between Edward Walter Lett, Gisborne, youngest soil of Mr and Mrs E. H. Lett. Dawson street, Pahiatua, and Betty Rubina, third daughter of Mr and Mrs Garrity, Dyerville, Martinborough.
V.C. TO WED. Lieutenant Keith Elliott, V.C., will wed Margaret Markham, Hastings, on February 2 at St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings. Eileen and Lucy Elliott, twin sisters of Lieutenant Elliott, will he bridesmaids.
