BIG SHOW CROWD
GOOD WAIROA EFFORT
FIRST LOR TWO YEARS
' S.'R.) WAIROA, Jan. 15. A revival of the show by the r/airoa County A. and P. Society, which to-day held its first Show for two years, was marked by a large crowd that, ensured the financial success of tiic function. Featured among the exhibitors were many from Gisborne, while the train arrangements were suitable enough to attract many people from Gisborne and also from intermediate stations, special carriages being provided on the express for the occasion.
The entries, although not a record, arc well up to the numbers of past years and the judges in some instances experienced considerable difficulty 'in separating the prize-winners. The grounds, due to the work of a strong committee, are in excellent order, very favourable comment being heard from visitors.
The horse competitions are providing 4 the greatest attraction, some line jumping (being witnessed from the large list of entries, which include competitors from Hawke’s Bay, Gisborne and Wairoa. The stock'generally exhibited is in good condition, the fat sheep in particular being of ex’eeptionally good type.
Numerous side-shows are present, all being conducted by the Wairoa Patriotic Committee, including a bring and buy stall, and these are receiving generous support. Schools Section
