WAR-RISK CHARGES
CHANGES IN RATES '
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. Local advices have been received of the following alterations or additions to the schedule of war rates, the previous rates, where they are not otherwise mentioned, being shown in brackets: —
• New Zealand coastal rate is reduced from 10s per cent to 5s per cent. New Zealand and Pacni.c IsianJs, to or from South America (Atlantic and Pacific ports), via the Cape of Good Hope, 7Lper cent (8 per cent); to or from the 'yVest indies, via the Cape of Good Ilope, 7£ per cent (8 per cent); via the Mediterranean, 9 per cent (10 per cent); via Panama, 4 per cent (5 per cent). New Zealand, to or from the Persian Gulf, 5 per cent (6 per cent); to or from Africa, north and west of Cape Palmas (including islands), 7 per cent (8 per cent). Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius direct, 5£ per cent (6 per cent); Aden, Red Sea, Suez, Port Said and Alexandria, 6 per cent (64 per cent).
Mediterranean, east of Alexandria and Turkey, 7 per cent (7J per cent.) New Guinea, South Coast, 3£ per cent (4 per cent); North Coast, not north of Oro Bay. 4 per cent. India, west of Cape Cormorin, including Ceylon. 5 per pent (6 per cent); east of Cape Comorin but not east of Chittagong, 0 per cent (6 per cent).
' Pacific .Islands, 3J per cent (4 per cent). •
' iNew Zealand, to or from Australia (not north of 25 deg. east coast or 20 deg. west .coast) and Tasmania, 2 per cent (3 per cent). Thb British Government war risk rate came down yesterday from £6 10s per cent to £5 10s per cent from the United Kihgdom to New Zealand and vice-versa.
