OPIUM WORTH £7OO

DISPLAYED IN COURT TWO CHINESE FINED (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. Opium stated to be of a value of £7OO in a black market was exhibited in the Police Court to-day when two Chinese were charged with toeing found in possession of it on November 21. The accused were Chen Sung Yuan, aged 28. a seaman, and Nee Ah Kan, aged 26, a labourer, both of whom were fined £3O toy the magistrate, Mr. J, Morling. The fines were paid immediately and the opium was forfeited to the Collector of Customs.
