AMERICAN DELEGATE

ALLIED ADVISORY BODY WASHINGTON, Nov. 22. The State Department announced the appointment of Mr. Robert D. Murphy, at present the chief United States representative in Algiers, as the United States member of the Allied Advisory Council for Italy. Mr. Edwin G. Wilson has been appointed United States representative on the French Committee, succeeding Mr. Murphy, who continues as advisor on Italian affairs on General Eisenhower’s staff. Messrs. Murphy and Wilson have ambassadorial rank.

BRITISH APPOINTEES

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 22.

Mr. Harold Macmillan, British Minister in North Africa, has been appointed British representative on the Advisory Council for Italy, with the title of United Kingdom High Commissioner. Mr. Macmillan will retain his post as British Resident Minister at Allied Force Headquarters. Mr. Harold Caccia, a member of Mr. Macmillan’s staff, has been appointed acting vice-president of the political section of the Central Commission for Italy.
