CLINIC CONTRACTS
KAITI AND MANGAPAPA NEW INTERMEDIATE TYPE Contracts have been let for the construction of new dental clinics of type B, to accommodate one nurse, at both Kaiti and Mangapapa schools, the contractor being Mr. A. L. W. Martin, who is making an'immediate start.
It is hoped that the construction of the Intermediate School clinic is not far oil’. At first a standard clinic to acdomfmodate two nurses was proposed for that school, but after the Education Department had approved of a grant, proposals were made for the construction of a new and improved type that would give greater accommodation and an improved lay-out.
Mr. F. Wise, who took a leading part recently in the collection of funds for the establishment of the dental clinics, stated to-day that, he had been advised that the Cabinet had approved of a grant for the new type, which was slightly more costly than the standard clinic, and plans and specifications were now being prepared with the object of calling tenders at an early date. This will be the first of the improved type of two-nurse clinic to be built in New Zealand.
