NYLON STOCKINGS
SUPPLIES FOR AUSTRALIA NOT LEASE-LEND (9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug, 13. Supplies cf nylon stockings for Australian women will not come from the United States under the lend-lease agreement, according to the Commonwealth Director of Import Procurement, Mr. A. C. Moore, The announcement of the impending arrival of the stockings was made by Mr. W, V. McCall, M.P., a member of the Rationing Commission. He now states that nylon stockings are likely to .come forward in the form of diverted cargo.
An earlier message stated that thousands of nylon stockings would be on sale in Australia within the next three months. Supplies were being sent from America under the lendlease agreement with the United States, and would be released through the Clothing Commission. They would sell at prices from 15s to 18s a pair.
