Steak and Eggs
At the anniversary party at the Allied Services’ Club, Wellington, the Governor-General. Sir Cyril Newell, said that figures supplied to him showed that an average of 22001 b. oi steak was consumed in the club each week. Steak and poached eggs seemed to be the favoured dish, he remarked, for 26,000 dozen eggs wore used in the year.
