AMERICAN AWARD
NEW ZEALAND PILOT (Special Correspondent.) LONDON, July 19. Warrant Officer Allister K. Saunders, of Owakai, received the Air Medal from Major-General 1. C. Eaker, at the United States Army Eighth Air Force headquarters on Saturday. Warrant Officer Saunders won the award “for a meritorous achievement while serving as a pilot of an air-sea rescue plane on April 16. He successfully landed m the sea to rescue an American fighter pilot. The courage and skill displayed by Warrant Officer Saunders on this occasion reflects great credit Upon members of the armed foices of His Majesty’s Government.
