TRANSPORT PROBLEMS (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 19. American lend-or-lease material for Russia is going into Iran, via the Persian Gulf, in such volume that it has outstripped Russia's ability to unload, sort and carry it away to the fighting areas, says the New York Times’ correspondent in Cairo. Some American observers suggest that if the Russians are agreeable much of ibis material could be transported by tl e fT.’iti-l. The volume of supplies reached 1,000,000 tons monthly early in July and, it is believed, with the improved shinning facilities now available, this figure could be substantially exceeded.
