INCREASES IN BRITAIN

(BriUsh Official Wire loss.) (9 a.m.) RUGBY, July H> The changes in war pensions, which are announced in a White Paper, will come into, force next month. The minimum pension payable to a private soldier who is totally disabled rises from £1 17s to £2 per week. There is a corresponding increase in family and other allowances. The basic pension for widows and their children will also be raised and, in addition, pensions to widows and others with children will be supplemented by a sum equivalent to the amount paid in rents and rates to over 8s a week. The debate in the House of Commons on pensions will take place on the first day of the next series of sittings, the Foreign Secretary announced.
