ASSAULT ON SICILY

PLANNED AT CASABLANCA hard fighting ahead (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 15. The decision to undertake the Sicilian offensive was reached at the Casablanca conference between President Roosevelt and Mr. Winston Churchill while General Eisenhower, the Allied Commander-in-Chief in North Africa, decided the date before the end of the Tunisian campaign'; according to the acting-Secretary of War.
