SOLDIERS ON FURLOUGH (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July l(i. The Minister of Supply and Munitions, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Said last night that on application to the local oil fuel controller soldiers who hacl just returned on furlough; from service overseas may obtain a license for a small allocation of petrol for personal use. Before seeing their local controller, the soldiers should have their applications checked by the secretary of the nearest branch of the Returned Services’ Association to ensure that they were correct. The Minister stressed the fact that Hie petrol would be available only for Hie personal use by the soldier himself where lie was the owner of a car, or where he could arrange 1o obtain the use of one on loan.
