ARGENTINE PLEDGE

HELP TO U.S. REPUBLICS BREAK WITH AXIS HINTED (10.0) MONTEVIDEO. July 9. The Argentine Foreign Minister, Senor Storni, sent a message to the emergency committee for political defence of the Hemisphere stating that the Argentine delegate, attending a meeting of the emergency committee for the first time, promised that Argentina would co-operate in the best possible manner with the other American nations.

Pro-Democratic circles in Buenos Aires interpreted Senor Storni’s announcement as paving the way for an eventual break with the Axis.
