Home Guard Smoke Concert A brief survey of the formation and growth of the Homo Guard in Gisborne was given by one of the original members. Captain R. E. Gambrill, officer commanding D Company, Gisborne Battalion, at a smoke concert held in Findlay’s. rooms last night by the officers, N.C.O.s and other ranks of that company. Captain Gambril] recalled how, following the outbreak of the war, a number of enthusiasts became associate members of the Legion of Frontiersmen and these men formed the nucleus of the Home Guard when it was organised here.
