OFFENCES BY BOYS
UNSUITABLE EMPLOYMENT “I have commented before on boys who come before this- court being employed in hotels.” observed Mr. H. W. Bundle, S.M., in Dunedin, when an 18-year-old youth, who is employed in an hotel in the city, appeared before him in the Police Court at Dunedin on seven charges involving a variety of offences. The probation officer, Mr. E. F. Mosley, who had been asked to have a talk to the youth, said that such positions were difficult to fill and were generally taken by young fellows who were not enthusiastic about hard work.
“If youths are inclined to go wrong, employment in an hotel is the very worst place for them,” Mr. Bundle said.
