NEWS OF THE DAY
Motor Caravan Licenses Hotel accommodation being so difficult- to obtain, the North Island Motor Union, at its meeting in Wellington, decided to seek short-period licenses for motor caravans in any three consecutive months within the licensing year. It was stated that these caravans were only in use, in most coses for family holidays at beaches, and the licensing fee .should be charged on a pro rata basis. A deputation is to wait on the Minister in charge of the Post and Telegraph Department regarding Its refusal to grant short-period licenses. Dog’s Devotion Although his master died more than 15 months ago, Bobby, an aged collie, still remains near his grave at Hillsborough cemetery. Auckland.
