AFRICAN ELECTIONS
GOVERNMENT PROSPECTS (Noon.) LONDON, July 7. The present impression in London is that the South African Government will at least maintain its majority in to-day’s general election. The Ijnal result, however, will not be known for two or three weeks owing to the delay in the count of the fifth of the electorate in the fighting forces. The Prime Minister, General J. C. Smuts, said he wants the election to be of a decisive character.
