11 .A.T.S. GIRL VICTIMS NAZI DAWN RAID LONDON, May 31. During a dawn raid on an East Anglian town, stated by the Berlin radio to be Great; Yarmouth, _ a bomb hit a building containing A.T.S. girls. At least 11 bodies have been recovered and the search is continuing for others who are believed to be under the. debris- ■ The raiders machine-gunned the streets and hit a bus full of workers, injuring several persons. Many houses were damaged, a number of people being killed. Mustangs intercepted the raiders, destroyed one and damaged others. A second raider was destroyed by antiaircraft. The Air Ministry states that this morning aircraft ,of the Coastal Command destroyed an enemy plane off the Dutch coast. .During the day, Fighter Command aircraft carried out sweeps. Other lighters and aircraft of the Army Cooperation Command flew a number of offensive patrols over the Channel and the coast of France. An enemy fighter was destroyed and an enemy ship and several locomotives damaged. Ohe of our planes is missing. The Berlin radio stated that the East Anglian town raided to-day was Great Yarmouth and added t’a-*t the heavy bombs caused great havoc ar.d many fires.
