DILEMMA OF JAPANESE NEW PACIFIC WAR PHASE (9 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 12. General Ashinari Ichida, Director of Military Aviation, broadcasting over the Tokio radio, said that the Japanese air force was inferior in technical knowledge but superior in spiritual strength to the Americans. He appealed for greater efforts in Japanese war production because Japan must bomb the American mainland and the Pacific war would soon be entering a critical phase which will determine whether Japan would eat or be eaten.
