“GREATEST TEAM”
BRITISH-U.S. BOMBERS FORCES IN EUROPE (British Official Wireless.) (9 a.m.) RUGBY. May 11. “I think it a wonderful idea that the British should have planes for night bombing arid we should have Dianes for high-level precision day bombing. They form the greatest team ever built.” This declaration was made by Lieut.-Gcneral Jacob Devers, the new commanding officer of the American European forces, on his arrival in London from Washington, via Iceland. . , T have but one purpose, he said, “to do all I can to win the war m the shortest possible time.” General Devers, who is an armoured Warfare expert, announced that his Chief of Staff will be an air officer, Maior-General Edwards.
