Funeral of Mr. R. M. Attwood The funeral of the late Mr. Roy Maurice Attwood, which took place on Saturday, was attended by a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased. Representatives of the Mangapapa 1.0.0. F. Lodge, sisters of the Rebecca Lodge, and members of the Lines of Communication Motor Transport Company were ; also present. The service, was conducted by the Rev. K. P. Lilly, and the lodge service was read by Mr, E. Somervell. The pajl-bearers were Messrs. W. Attwood; E. B. White, T. Harvey, I. Cameron, H. Harding and L. Harvey.

Celebrating; New Year “I understood my prohibition order was up on April 11, and I was celebrating the new year, as it were,” stated Walter Anderson Waddell, alias William Anderson, a labourer, .when he was charged before Mr. E.; L. Walton, S.M., in the Gisborne Magistrate’s Court to-day with having'been found drunk in Gladstone road and also with breaking his prohibition order. Senior-Sergeant H. H. Russell said that the order, which was’ taken out in Wairoa, had only a few days to run. “Possibly the story may be true.” said His Worship, “and in view of the fact that he has been in the lock-up overnight he will be convicted and discharged.”
