CALLIOPE DOCK GATE
BIG AUCKLAND WORK (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 8. An important engineering effort was ■ completed in Auckland to-day when the 270-ton dock gate for Calliope was launched. Built by local engineers of (Australian steel, it cost £22,000. The .'work was begun last August. The length is 85ft., the height 45ft., and the width 134 ft.
