OFFICIAL OPENING A splendid crowd attended the official opening function of a Y.M.C.A hut in an armed force’s camp last evening. „ „ , . . The Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull. speakin t , on behalf of the East Coast Provincia Patriotic Council, emphasised the tact that such huts, were made possible by the people of New Zealand acting through the patriotic councils and Patriotic Fund. Board The acting-commanding officer ol the camp mentioned the proved worth of such, huts and expressed the hope that the men would make the ve.,y best use of this one. I Canon A. F. Balk officiating chai - Jain, asked a blessing on all the activities within the hut. i A concert programme provided by a Iparty from Gisborne, and interspersed with community singing followed, and this was very well received by the (audience. Supper was served by |members of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies i Auxiliary. .
