LOVE NOTE IN BOTTLE
OBJECT OF MESSAGE GERMAN WOOL-BUYER (P \ ) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 4. Mr J. Wolfram, to. whom the message in a bottle picked up on the beach at Moruya. .150 miles south ol Sydney, was addressed to 30 years ago was a young German wool buyei who left New Zealand in 1913 and had not returned to the Dominion since then. , , , A Christchurch wool broker met Mr. Wolfram in 1938 at the London wool sales, where he was buying lor a German firm domiciled in Amsterdam, of which he was a partner. Mr. Wolfram first came to New Zealand in 1908 as a buyer for the firm of L. F Rhodius, of Antwerp. He was -well known at the wool sales, and spent one winter in the Dominion. The records of the Canterbury Club show that he joined the club in 1911 and left the country in 1913.
The message stated: “To J. Wolfram, Esq., Canterbury Club, Christchurch, New Zealand, 3/10/13: Dearest, I am sending afloat this little note. If it reaches you I will be very happy. It conveys just all I would say if I weie near you and, perhaps, even more than words could express. Only you will understand. Au revoir for a little while. With heaps of love. Your Margot.”
