MANACLES ON PRISONERS BRITAIN AND CANADA (11 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 12. No official statement has been made in London about the unshackling of the German prisoners of war since the Government’s announcement of the decision to remove the manacles to-day, but it is known that German prisoners in Britain and Canada had the manacles removed as usual on Friday night and that they have not been replaced. . It is reported from Zurich that the Neue Buercher Zeitung’s Berlin correspondent says that Germany has agreed to unfetter the prisoners ol war who were put in chains.
