"PEEPING TOM" CHARGED

A chase in the early hours of the morning, down Ada street into College street. Palmerston North, had its sequel in the Magistrate’s Court when W. D. Moore, railway employee, was sentenced to 14 days’ gaol for being on premises without lawful excuse. Accused was described by the police as a “peeping Tom.” Evidence was given that a visitor 1o a residence saw accused at a window and chased and caught him. A further charge in connection with a residence in Featherston street failed on a point of identification. The police said there had been numerous complaints lately regarding pfl’ences of this nature.
