EL .AGHEILA BATTLEINCREASED ACTIVITY LONDON, Dec. 2 There are indications that zero hour in the coming battle of El Agheila is 1 not far distant. There have been artillery exchanges and patrol clashes which suggests that the Eighth Army’s * attack against the remnants of General Rommel’s army might come almost at any time. A Cairo communique states: “Yes*rday enemy artillery was successfully engaged in the neighbourhood of El Agheila. Patrol activity continued. Three enemy fighters were shot down and others damaged during air combat over the forward areas. General air activity was on a moderate scale.”
