GERMANS RESISTED

FRENCH GARRISONS (10 a.m.) MOSCOW, Dec. 2. The Tass News Agency says it is reported from Berne that the French garrison at Montpellier resisted Herr Hitler’s demobilisation order. S.S. troops had to fight their way into the barracks, and a number were killed and wounded on both sides. The Germans arrested about 600 marines who refused to lay down cheff arms at Marseilles.
