COAST BOWLS AND TENNIS

Ideal weather prevailed at the week-end for tlie opening of the Tokomaru Bay howling and tennis clubs. Visitors were jn-esent from Tolaga Bay, Te Puia and Ruatoria. Mr. F. Thompson, president of the bowling club, welcomed the visitors and wished both clubs a successful season. His daughter. Miss Edith Thompson, rolled the first howl and declared the season officially open. Mr. G. Glen, president of the tennis club, also spoke. The ladies provided a delicious afternoon lea and play continued all afternjoohv A Yankee tournament proved popular amongst the tennis players. L__\.
