BRITISH USED “JEEPS”
RAID ON BENGHAZI ITALIAN CONJECTURE (2 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27. According to thie Rome radio, the British used 60 Jebps and 20 three-ton lorries in the recent rMid on Benghazi, planning to take positions in the harbour and then sigfial to submarines lying Offshore which’ were ready to lana cofrirriahdos. The raids against Tobruk, Barce and Benghazi were designed to destroy the Axis land, sea and air organisation in the rfear of General Rommel’s lines, says the radid.
