RIGHT OF RECOVERY NEW YORK MAYOR’S AIM (9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 28. The Mayor o£ New York, Mr. F. H. La Guardia, in a broadcast, said he is , seeking to amend the legislation to permit the recovery of all losses Irom gambling in any amount and of any nature, kind or description. He pointed out that the State law permits a loser to sue lor recovery irom a professional gambler only if £6 5s or more is' lost at one sitting. He intends to seek an amendment of the law so that even a 10 per cent policy wager is recoverable, a policy which is popular with small gamblers, being a form of lottery based on totalisator returns and other groups of figures Mr. La Guardia invited families who have lost bets in the last three months to sue .the bookmaker. He promised them legal assistance if the amount is too small for a lawyer to take the case.
