BATTLES OF N.Z.E.F.
EYE-WITNESSES’ ARTICLES MIDDLE EAST CONTEST (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. With the object of supplementing official accounts of big battles and minor engagements, a competition, which was open to all ranks of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force closed on June 31 for the best eye-witness accounts of the Middle East actions in which the New Zealanders were engaged. The articles submitted will be filed in the official archives for use when the official history of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force is .being written. The judges —LieutenantColonel F. Waite, New Zealand patriotic fund, the editor of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force Times, and an officer appointed by headquarters of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force are now dealing with the large mumber of entries received. Three £5 prizbs for officers and three similar prizes for other ranks were offered by the National Patriotic Fund Board.
