DESTROYED IN FIRE RAID

(British Official Wireless.) (10.30 a.m.) PtUGBY, July 4. It has just been officially disclosed that the central telegraph office, the centre of Britain’s telegraph service, was destroyed on the night of the great fire raid on London on December 29, 1940. Only a portion of the apparatus and instruments was saved, but the service was fully restored in alternative accommodation within three weeks.
