HERDS BEING SOLD
Concern was expressed at a meeting of the Rotorua Primary Production Council over the fact of so many dairy herds in the district being ’ sold up, with .the resultant decrease in Droduction. It was thought that this was because of the labour problem and members were of the opinion that farming should be classed as an essential industry. It was also contended that, as land development work had ceased at Galatea, machinery might be made available to assist farmers in their seasonal cropping.
