THE SEARCH FOR OIL
An indication of the extent to which the Superior Oil Company intends to prosecute its prospecting work ,in the Kumara district is afforded by the large quantities of equipment being conveyed there by the Railway Department. For some time heavy consignments have been forwarded and during the last few days several truck loads of big drills have been sent to Kumara. To assist in the operations, a 40-ton railway crane and a smaller one have been brought into use.
