SPECIAL TRIBUTE
N.Z.E.F. IN BATTLE CHURCHILL’S COMMENT GEN. FREYBERG WOUNDED (By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) (2 p.m.) RUGBY, July 2. A " special tribute to the New Zealanders’ part in the present Battle of Egypt was paid by the Prime Minister, Mr Winston Churchill, in his speech in the House of Commons during the debate on the no-confidence motion. “There is one reinforcement the enemy knows about —that is the Now Zealand Division,” said Mr. Churchill amid loud cheers. “The New Zealand Government, themselves under the menace of potential invasion, advised the fullest use of their troops and they have been sent into battle under the command of heroic Major-General Sii Bernard Freyberg, who has again been wounded.” The New Zealanders were fighting hard now, acquitting themselves in a manner equal to their former records.
