CHARGES FOR NAILS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this' day. The Minister of Supply, the "Hon. D. G. Sullivan, announced'that a price order has been gazetted increasing the price of nails by approximately Id per lb. for purchases in small quantities. These prices give effect to the recently increased sales tax and also provide comparable increases for retail sales of larger quaritities 'and for wholesale transactions. •"■B The Minister said this was the first increase in the price of 'nails since March, 1940, since when a nail and wire pool account had been established. the effect of which had been to stabilise the internal price of wire landing in -New Zealand from various overseas sources at differing price’s and freights. •
