DOMINION PRODUCTION EXPORT TO BRITAIN REDUCTION IN CHEESE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. It was announced yesterday by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, that the United Kingdom Ministry of Food had indicated it might’be desirable for'New 1 Zealand to increase the production of- butter and proportionately decrease cheesb production during the coming season. During the past year the amount of cheese available for‘export'to the United Kingdom from North America has greatly increased and it ib the desire Of the United Kingdom Government that New Zealand should consider .the possibility of making available an increased quantity of butter. No final decision will be reached until after further-' negotiations with the United Kingdom Government and after the matter'has been'fully considered by fthe” Government' in consultation : with" the - "Dairy ■ Industry Council.
