SWEPT ACROSS BAR
HINDU IN A DJNGHY Caught in a strong current, a Hindu was swept across the bar in a dinghy at Whakatane on 'Thursday evening. He was Mr. Rai Kapobr; aged 35. married with three young children. He 's an employee of‘the Vfhakatane paper mills. Mr. Kapoor, who lives near the heads, rowed his eight-foot dinghy’ across the mouth of the Whakatane River on Thursday afternoon "to collect* iriftwood. He was returning at about 6.30 p.m. with a load of wood when 1 he was caught in the current from* the river, which was in flood follov;ng heavy rain, and his vessel crossed, the bar.
