“WORRIES OVER”

AMERICAN OUTPUT SUPPLY OF MATERIALS TORRENT ON THE MOVE (By Telegraph—Preas Aran.— Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) (2 p.m.) RUGBY, Juno 30. “I have no worries any more about American production. I can only say that I am tremendously heartened by what I saw and learned." declared Mr. Averell Harrimali, summing up Ins recent visit to the United States in company with the British Minister of Production, Captain O. Lyttelton. Speaking of Mr. Winston Churchill, with whom he returned to England, Mr. I-larfiman said: "Every time he comes to America the more seems to be accomplished in bringing the two nations closer together.' Mr. Harriman stressed that he wn« not worried about the supply oi rubber for military purposes. Synthetic rubber production was going ahead, but it took considerable time to build facilities. There would not be a great deal of synthetic rubber next year, and American civilian requirements Would have to be cut still further. Asked whether America faced a deficiency in raw materials. Mr. Harriman said: "I think it fair to say that at the moment I do not see any place where the war effort is going to be handicapped by a deficiency of raw materials, but, of course, that does not mean we could not have greater and faster production. It is my judgment that as the development of production of the two countries comes along, their people will have every right to be thoroughly confident in the quality and quantity of weapons. The shortage of shipping has not so far affected the transport oi war materials to any theatre of war. The torrent which will come out before the end of the year is already moving.”
