EARTHQUAKE LOSSES

MESSAGES OF SYMPATHY BRITAIN AND SYDNEY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Freiser, has received t.he following cable from Mr. Louis Scott, president of the New Zealand Association, Sydney: "All members of the association extend the deepest sympathy to sufferers from the earthquake.” The Government has received a message from the British Secretary for the Dominions: “The British Government has learned with' great concern that the damage caused by the recent earthquake in New Zealand proved more serious than at first thought. We realise how this has added to the burden of New Zealand in this difficult time, and . we send our sincere sympathy to the Government and people.”
