WHACKIE’S SUCCESS HURDLES TO RENASCOR (P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ this day. The Manawatu Racing Club’s winter meeting was concluded in fine and bright weather on Saturday. The course was in excellent order. There was a large crowd. The totalisator handled £31,344 10s against £17,987 on the second day, a Monday, last year. The total for the meeting was £59,270 compared with £42,932 10s a year ago. Concluding results:— Ituakawa Hurdles, of £250; 1J miles.—s Renascor, 9.6 (E. Temperton), 1 : 4 Colibri, 9.10 (F. Cleaver), 2; 1 Pekoe, 10.3 (A. Jenkins), 3. Scratched: Gay Fox, Dorado, Matoroa. Rich Blood. Two lengths: three lengths. Gold Spot was fourth. Time, 3.22 J. Te Marae Handicap No. 2, of £150; 7 furlongs.—2 Mihinui, S.ll (J. Williamson), 1 : 3 Bright Lady, 8.9 (O. Mclnally), 2; 13 Courting, 8.2 (S. Anderson). 3. All started. A head: a length. Prince Shad was fourth. Time, 1.34. Mcßae Handicap, of £2OO ; 7 furlongs.—4 Whackie, 9.0 (W. Broughton), 1: 1 Duality, 8.5 (A. Jenkins), 2; 17 Sceptre, 8.0 (N. Holland), 3. Scratched: Full Hand, Sir Dingle; a head; three-quarters of a length. Saint Tor was fourth. Time, 1.333. Te Awe Awe Handicap, of £175; 1J miles. 6 Gold Court, 8.10 (P. Atkins), 1; 3 Don Quex, 8.11 (D. W. Redstone), 2; 1G Young Jim, 8.0 (J. Campbell), -3. Scratched: Sir Dingle, Greek Idol.
