NO JULY 4 HOLIDAY
U.S. WAR FACTORIES (9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 28. The chief of the War Production Board, Mr. Donald Nelson, pointing out that the soldiers on the battlefield could not observe a holiday, told industry that “we dare not have a holiday on Independence Day, July 4, in war production. “We can pay proper honour to our freedom by working for the defence of that freedom,” he added. He asked that every factory on war production make July 4 a day of full production.
