WOMEN TO SERVE

“ACK-ACK” GUN UNITS AUSTRALIAN FORCES (Special Australian Correspondent.) (9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 28 Members of the Australian Women’s Army Service are to serve in home defence anti-aircraft units. This has been announced by Allied land headquarters. The men replaced will undertake more arduous work in the field. The employment of women in anti-aircraft work is an innovation in Australia, although it has been common in England since early in the war.
