HOME GUARD
SERIES OF LECTURES Home Guard activity in Gisborne this week includes a series of interesting lectures which should be of vital help to guardsmen. This evening a lecture, illustrated by a motion picture fdm, is to be given on road blocks to officers, N.C.Os and members of the Engineers Company. A further lecture to officers and N.C.Os will be given by Lieutenant Sceats to-morrow evening, while all company sergeant-majors are to report on Thursday evening for instruction. A warning is issued to Home Guardsmen that uniforms are to be worn only at parades or going to or from parades, and greatcoats are to be worn only with uniforms. Any deviation from this practice will be regarded as a breach of discipline. Postings include F. A. Neill and G. T. Tucker to C. Company, and A. Gardner to B Company. Transfers included L. P. Fischbach from H.Q. Signals to C Company, Lieutenant C. A. Lawn from Engineers Company to H. Wing as Intelligence Officer, and W. J. Lightfoot from Engineers Company to B Company (No. 2 Outpost). B. Dods has been transferred from A Company to Cook Battalion, and E. R. Thomas from Engineers to Hamilton. This week’s parades include H.Q. Signals. Medical and Motor-Cycle, Guards-Petrol Stations N.C.Os, and Brass Band to-morrow night, H.Q. Signals N.C.Os, C. Company N.C.Os and Pipe Band on Thursday, C Company on Saturday afternoon, H.Q. Signals, A Company, B Company (No. 1 and 2 outposts), Guards-Petrol Stations, Engineers and Mortar Platoon on Sunday.
